Happy belated New Year to everyone.

So, some life updates: let's get the things that people won't actually care about out of the way first.
Yesterday was my nana's 80th birthday, which was a great celebration the whole family enjoyed. Here's to a happy rest of her life.

Secondly, I've scrounged up some money for various purposes. I managed to get a New 3DS XL. Normally I HATE the XL models with a burning passion. However, I had very little choice in the matter. Nintendo of America has been extremely picky about the N3DS standard model. Originally here they only sold XL's because "we're a different market than the rest of the world". Um, no? You're still selling consoles to gamers young and old. We may have some cultural differences but the 3DS standard sizes are not one of them. Then they only started selling them in special Animal Crossing bundles, throwing in faceplates and the new spinoff game. And then they factored the price of the plates and game into the bundle, making it more expensive to buy than the XL.

If I have to pay that much extra for some extra customization, then the deal's off. I've given up on #OperationFacePlateNA thanks to Nintendo's terrible marketing strategy, and thus, I've given in to the XL craze. It's not as bad as I thought. It's easier to see things now, though I wish the resolution weren't crappier because of the increased sized. Yeah, it's big for my pockets, but I have a pouch for it now I can clip onto my belt. I've also managed to recover all of my eshop downloads, save for the demos. I've even gotten into the badge collecting craze with Nintendo Badge Arcade. I don't intend to collect em all, just whatever I can get with the free plays. And tomorrow I plan to buy Tri Force Heroes, in spite of its mediocrity, to help tide me over until Hyrule Warriors Legends releases on March 25th. In addition, I've also got A Link Between Worlds, MM3D the first two games for the NES, all the GBC titles, and FSAE to help keep me occupied.

Speaking of the Legend of Zelda, using my Amazon gift cards, I have started a Link cosplay. Now I already own fingerless gloves from my Sniper cosplay- and I've got suitable boots and pants and now have the equipment pouch styled after Link's, but I needed more of the basics. So I ordered a costume that came with a hat, tunic, dummy harness/belt, shoe covers shaped like boots and foamish gaunlets. Along with that, I ordered some prosthetic ears, a better harness, and a replica Master Sword. And get this- thanks to sales, my gift cards, and free shipping, I only had to shell out $9.17 for all of that- and that was just to cover the rest of the Master Sword's cost. And this ain't no cheap plastic or foam sword- oh no. THIS replica is plastic and stainless steel! It's almost like a real sword. And the harness I bought for it was specifically made to hold the sword and scabbard.

I might need to get some better shoe covers, and I need a decent Hylian shield that I can mod to wear on my back. And I dunno how I'd be able to get earrings on my fake ears- or what the blue things are on his arms- I'm going for the Twilight Princess look. I'll also need a dirty blonde wig.

And now onto things people will actually care about:

Now I already talked about how I've decided against doing my Godred stories now. As good of an idea as it was, it never got fully developed and the person I have to thank for said ideas thinks I was guilt tripping him and was aware of it. No I wasn't. I don't pick up on these things and need social cues to keep me in check- so I will know if what I'm saying or doing is wrong/being misinterpreted.

I've been considering trying to start up Dee's book again. But I'm not quite sure yet. Originally, what the plan for Dee's book was to rewrite all of Daisy's stories/roles in Christopher Awdry's portion of the RWS and replace them with Dee- and write an introduction scene too. But after watching a video someone made on The Great Race and a possible sequel to the Adventure Begins/The Great Race, I thought "Oh, this guy's got some good ideas." I never even thought of relocating Daisy's stories to Harwick instead. So I think the Book formerly known as Dee the Diesel Railcar will now be titled Daisy the Diesel Railcar, and be followed up by a sequel focusing on Dee and Daisy. This will feature original stories.

I also ran out of time to do my Skarloey Railway book for the 150th Anniversary. Well, fret not, because 2016 will feature an even bigger celebration! So I've got two books to write now- but the second can only be done once the 151st anniversary celebration has started of course. What I was thinking for the 2015 book was to have Bertram and Fearless Freddie brought to the railway over from the Harwick Railway and tell the younger engines stories about their glory days on the MSR- and for Skarloey and Rheneas to do the same. I don't know who the planned visitors for 2016 are; they might be the same and thus make a second book redundant, but if it features, oh, I dunno, say, Countess from Welshpool and Llianfair (did I spell that right?), then I will be able to actually include my OC- Harwick Railway No. 1 "Mared". I've actually considered commissioning someone to build a Trainz model of her to use.

And of course, I'm working on rereleasing my old workshops content, as well as releasing some of my content included with other users' models (Adam's Splodge, Damon's Charlie) as stand-alone releases. But before I continue releasing and re-releasing, I'm working on redoing my release promos. Older ones will be deleted rather than updated with a new file- and the new promo will be uploaded to take its place. I've taken some advice to crop the width so as to give the shots their mostly proper aspet ration. This also lessens the visibility of the chips previously seen on the border, making it looks slightly more perfect-ish.

And finally, Mr. Wilkinson has given us a couple of important updates. He says hopefully the 2016 map of Sodor will be out next month- he's once again gone back to watch the series in its entirety and it includes mostly everything except stuff yet to be released. A few things have been adjusted here and there too according to him.

But, even more importantly than the map is a topic long since discussed- and a seemingly impossible goal for the fandom. Mr. Wilkinson is currently in talks with HiT on getting the Director's Cut of TATMRR out finally. He's got a copy of an earlier version of the film, though he's said this one is not one they can work with right now. Not sure what's wrong with it, but he's promised to give us updates on the situation. At long last, my friends. We may finally get the Directors Cut released! It might be a fandom-exclusive DVD, I dunno. I suggested for it to start out as SiF exclusive, then move away from SIF towards the rest of the fandom on the net, and perhaps if it does successfully enough, may see a retail release like actually in stores or something. It's a long way off but I think it's possible.

Speaking of TATMRR- would you guys rather have the original voices for the engines kept in the film, or see the lines rerecorded by the current UK cast? Not saying this is an option but it is an interesting idea.

It'd be intersting to see Keith, Rob, Tim ETC voicing the magic railway crew.
Susan did a good job on James but she was the wrong actor for him.
